Trinity Law Outreach

HOME / BRANCHES / Trinity Law Outreach

The Outreach Programme is a student-run subcommittee of the Dublin University Law Society. Its goal is to open doors to third-level education for secondary school students across Ireland, with a particular emphasis on teaching the law to students. Socio-economic background should never be a barrier to a student’s ambitions: everyone with the drive to study law deserves the opportunity, and Outreach works to facilitate this.

What makes this programme thrive is the incredible commitment of our team- eight dedicated committee members and over 50 student mentors we take on board every year. These mentors will be paired with schools around the country, where they’ll introduce students to the workings of the Irish legal system. The classes are designed to be interactive, sparking debate and thus allowing students to enhance their critical thinking and public speaking skills.

The Outreach Committee is expanding massively every year, and through collaboration with other legal groups and committees we are increasing awareness of the programme and what it is working for. We host two on- campus days throughout the year: Access to Law Day and Outreach Day, where the schools Outreach works with come in to campus for mock trials, campus tours, workshops and speaker events.
